*About:
‘Roadside blues’, in the key of C minor brings us the blues-inspired classic rock era of the 70s and 80s. The groove (130 BPM) is reminiscent of Dire Straits but very laid back. I’m a huge fan of Mark Knopfler’s playing, and – in that style – I tried to emphasize hybrid picking and delicate details in the guitar playing (vibrato’s, tremolo’s…) while staying melodic and following the groove of the track. The chorus has more of a Fleetwood-Mac vibe (or something from Eric Clapton’s Journeyman) with a recognizable motif of unison bends. I added some overdrive for the chorus, but not too much to stay transparent. The middle section is – again – very much inspired by Dire Straits. The song builds up to an outro with my very first fade-out guitar solo! Enjoy!
