WHO I AM
Based in London, French/African DJ Sun Philips is a producer, remixer, lyricist, composer and vocal performer. When people party during his DJ sets, they are invited into his unique musical universe of Latin, African and Urban vibes, all glued together with pure positive energy.
HOW DO I MAKE MY EDITS
One of the formulas I use to make a smooth and effective cool edit:
1- Find quality sound for the instrumental and the vocal (tips to find instru at the end).
2- Be sure that the instru and the vocal are the same musical key. REALLY IMPORTANT!
I always match the original track where the vocal is extracted from with the instrumental first, see if they go well together, see if the VIBE of the 2 tracks go well together before to start. Sometimes it’s the same key but it doesn’t work.
3- It’s time to add the magic!
Depending on the DAW you use (mine is Logic Pro X), don’t be scared to use effects on the vocals (reverbs, filters, etc.) to make it more into the instrumental.
Feel free as well, to chop the instrumental using part to like and/or moving things around for more impact on the dance floor.
