Now it’s here, another rock single. Rocklady Antonja makes a clear announcement,
“We wanna Rock”, she relies on shared fan emotions & experiences.
ANTONJA: “Rock music is love & life, rock music is critical, rock music is mood, stands for cohesion, is pure emotion, makes free and gives hope.”
All this unites the singer in her new song, in which she is also a songwriter.
In this context, Antonja also offers a bit of criticism of the industry’s pigeonholing. She thinks you shouldn’t differentiate rock music into so many categories. Appeals with it also to the fans.
ANTONJA: “In general, I think rock music has a somewhat dusty image, many decision-makers are too stuck in the past. “I would like to see more courage and tolerance for modernity and sound experiments in the songs, then I’m sure many younger people and a broader mass would get excited about this genre again.”
With their new rock single “We wanna Rock,” Antonja and her band have done just that. A mixture of rich guitar sound with driving and banging drums paired with synth sounds and elements known from the dance genre.
ANTONJA: “Surely this will be called total mainstream again by some. But what is bad about it? It just means that many people listen to this music and you spread positive vibes with it. I don’t care what it’s called, I make music, real modern music and that’s all that matters. “This from so-called experts, blah, blah, blah, is boring.”
In her new music video for “We wanna Rock” Antonja also relies on fan emotions, which she herself knows from her youth. The story is about a girl who is a big rock fan, everything in the room is covered with posters of her star, the music is turned up loud, which her parents don’t like at all. And secretly the girl has a great desire to experience her idol up close. And then it happens: ….
“We wanna Rock” by “ANTONJA” will be released worldwide on 05/26/2023.
There are 3 versions of the song, one of them is also a “Rock’n Remix”.
The music video and the song were produced on the island of Mallorca, where the Austrian-born singer lives for the most part.
